New Year Resolutions

I have been pondering new year resolutions and I think I have settled on 3.

The first is more audiobooks, less YouTube. 2025 has seen me become more and more frustrated with the direction of travel on YouTube towards low effort rage bait slop and a massive growth in AI generated content that is of no value to any topic. I have reduced my YouTube time a bit over the past year and I plan to continue that into 2026, and replacing it with audiobooks seems like a solid plan.

The second is to stop rushing through games. I have made strides toward that goal in 2025 (my 2nd Cyberpunk playthrough was greatly enhanced by not rushing) but I can still do better. I want to explore more, take in the scenery, talk to NPCs etc and generally just exist in these worlds. Just rushing the main story quests makes you miss out on so much (a lesson learned when I realised how little I know about FFXIV despite the hours I have in it).

The next goal is to miss going to Mass less. I was quite inconsistent in my attendance over 2025 and I need to fix that in 2026. I need to get back on the path of my walk with Christ.
